Little Man.. Easton

Often times we call Easton the squishy, cause really he is so squishy and big, I love it. He has been the best baby, really laid back and chill, loves to smile when you give him attention, he loves to eat, and best of all he sleeps anywhere between 6.5-8.5 hour chunk at night.. yeah!

A few weekends ago Jon and I made the trek to St. George.. where it is oh so warm and lovely! We had a great time hanging out with Jon's parents and the Nelsons, it really was like a little slice of heaven just relaxing!

Jon and I had a great New Years Eve hanging out with some friends, mostly we were proud of ourselves for being able to stay awake until midnight, we were so tired.. we are getting old! Cookie had a great time also.. she found the stash of Chocolate Chip Cookies!

Dinosaur Museum

I took Cookie and the boys to the Dinosaur Museum for the first time.. she loved it! When she saw the first dinosaur she opened her mouth wide and covered it with her hand, it was hilarious. A few of the dinosaurs made her scared like the one that spits water out at people! There was a lot to do there a sand box where you uncover dinosaur bones, a water station with rocks and balls, and earthquake machine.. which cookie would dance on and then lay down across, a place to make dinosaur tracks and a place to read books, it was really fun to see her excitement as she literally ran from one thing to another!

Holiday Festivities

I am a bit behind in my posting so here goes a brief recap of the holidays!
Cookie and I had many cooking adventures together during the holidays making cookies and gingerbread houses. The gingerbread house was not a success as cookie kept trying to eat and take apart the house! She loves to help in the kitchen.
Christmas eve we made rice krispy castles, acted out the nativity..Cookie was the lovely angel, and we played sardines.Here is Cookie Christmas morning.. loving her play kitchen!

Cooped Up

Right after I had the baby, I had those lovely raging hormones and this crazy cooped up in the house all day feeling.. I had to get out! Jon took me to the Nelson cabin to get away. It was just what the Dr. ordered, we just ate food, watched movies and stayed cozy, and I came back feeling like not so crazy of a person!

Cookie's First Haircut

It has been 2 years and seriously not a single strand of hair has ever been cut from Cookie's head, but enough was enough! My mom was in town and we decided that Cookie needed some bangs, due to the fact that her hair kept falling into her eyes. Cookie was not happy about sitting still for the .2 seconds it took to cut her bangs, but she survived! Don't worry though she still has the mullet in the back!

Life at Home

These are just some pictures from our first week of being at home with the new babe. My parents were here, we called my dad the baby whisperer.. cause Easton just snuggled with him all day! Cookie thought it was a grand idea for her to try out all the baby equipment also! Baby number 2 is an adjustment but I guess all his cuteness makes it worth it!

Easton Tate Cook was born Nov. 22nd at 8:11, weighing in at 8lbs. .04 oz., and 20 inches long. This little guy is a good baby, who loves to be snuggled and can't stop eating!! WE love him.. and surprisingly so does Brooklyn!

The Big 2!

My sweet girl turned 2 today.. can you even believe it, cause I can't. She brings so much joy into our home and I try and treasure every moment. Today was perfect, she slept in, woke up happy and snuggled with me in the bed watching a show for about an hour. Then we made a big breakfast, got ready for the day and she went to play group. After play group we went to lunch, and got a few treasures for her birthday. The Harmon's came over a little later for pizza dinner and cupcakes. All of the boys got pink princess necklaces as they came in the door.. which they all appeased me and wore! It was a great celebration, Happy Birthday Brooklyn!

Pregnancy Belly

The pregnancy belly card did not pull through for me today my friends.. I know can you believe it? I used to think once people could tell you were pregnant you could get away with anything! Today however I got pulled over by a motorcycle cop. I shifted my weight over to the window side of things to show off that big belly trying to push it out even further then it already is. I really couldn't think what I had done wrong, but I thought for sure once he saw this big belly I would be home free. Turns out my registration is expired and so was my grace month period =( I really had no idea and then tried to blame it on pregnancy brain haha.. sadly to say I still came home with a ticket, but at least he didn't say anything about my Utah License.. I have still not switched over to Colorado yet!

Halloween Festivities

I am a little sad to see Halloween season be over, I really love all the fun festivities associated with this season, mostly the yummy treats you get to make.. and eat!
For the ward party Jon went as the Chef, and I was the bun in the oven.. our little Brooklyn was the ladybug! We had a great time and I must say love that we have a kid that can win us a cake on the cake walk!

Here we are for Halloween night, we had yummy soup inside of a spider, along with some treats and then we headed out to Trick or Treat! Brooklyn was all over it, she maneuvered her way up through the kids to the front of the line, got the treats and ran with dad to the next house.. sometimes if she was lucky she could get her hand inside the bowl and grab a handful.. that's my girl right!

Mr. Potato Head Pumpkin

Cookie and I made a Mister Potato Head pumpkin this year, it was really fun because she could actually help and put all the parts into the pumpkin.. man she is growing up too fast!

We went to the local pumpkin patch this past week, the first attempt to go Cookie fell asleep right as we pulled up.. luckily the second attempt was successful. Cookie loved it, there were lots of animals, and a big slide, she was really unsure about the jumpy thing, and she refused to be carried through the corn-maze.. man she is stubborn!

Just Funny Stuff

I know I have been posting a lot of just random Cookie stuff but it's just too funny not to document.

I have a few Cookie approved drawers in the kitchen that I let her get into and I don't have to worry about it. Lately in the Tupperware drawer she gets them out and puts them on her feet and walks all around the house laughing thinking she is so funny!

Unfortunately Cookie has also learned how to get into the food cupboard, and has discovered that Lucky Charms have the most yummy marshmallows.. this is how I found her one morning, and almost all the marshmallows are gone!!Hide and Seek has becoming a new favorite game, Cookie loves to hide.. but then she gets really cozy and wants to stay there!

Cookie has really got to the age where I find her hilarious all the time. Here is a picture of her and Jon she kept pulling all of Jon's clothes out of the drawers wanting him to wear them, he has about 3 layers on, then she decided she needed to wear daddy's clothes, I thought it was pretty cute.

These one cracks me up she put on her princess tiara to take a bath.. guess she knows she currently rules our house.This one I just loved of her and Auntie Jill .. she is all dressed up with nowhere to go.. so we visited Jill!
I also loved this one, we go walking a few days a week and this is little Seth and Cookie, Seth was trying to be sweet and hold Cookie's hand but she refused.

Feeding the Ducks

Last week I took Cookie to feed the ducks at the park for the first time.. why have I not done this sooner?? She loved it, broke up all the bread and got excited for the ducks to eat it.. however I really thought she might jump in and join them!

Trip to the Cabin

Jon and I took a quick trip to stay at the Nelson cabin in Utah to be with Jon's family. We had a great time hanging out and catching up, going to women's conference and the park. It was just nice to spend time with family. I really didn't take many photos but here are a few from the aquarium and Cookie around the riverwoods.

Jon took me on a weekend trip to Denver, kid free.. it was fantastic! The first night we stayed at the Ritz Carleton, compliments of Jon's work. We explored downtown, the capitol, went shopping and to the art center. That night we scored cheap tickets, which were actually really good seats to the Rockies game, followed by yummy dinner. The next night we spent a little ways out of Denver more over towards Boulder at a resort hotel. We had a fancy dinner and then spent our time in the pool and hot tubs, and around the fire pit. It was a perfect few days just what I needed before this little babe is born!

Imogene Pass Run - Year 2

We went to Ouray last weekend to watch Jon in his big race. The race is 17 miles long and up over the top of a mountain pass reaching 13.100 ft of elevation. To run this race is quite an accomplishment, I was so proud seeing Jon on the final stretch.. in fact I got a little teary eyed. Glad he finished and glad he was safe. Love this Husband of mine! This picture was at mile 4 !

For labor day weekend we headed to Ridgeway for a little camping adventure! We had a great time playing down in the water and mud, and watching outdoor movies.. however little miss Cookie did learn how to get out of her pack n play, trouble here we come!

These are just some random pictures of Cookie lately.

I love this picture because it is very rare that Cookie will sit.. let alone sit long enough to read a book. We went to the peach festival and bought this peach margarita.. virgin of course, next thing I knew Cookie had downed almost all of it. I let Cookie try her first attempt with watercolors.. she loved it.. and like almost all other activities Cookie does, it resulted in a bath shortly there after. This one is just prove she's my kid.. look how happy she gets over eating yummy dinner!

MoonLight Half Marathon

This last Friday I ran the moonlight half marathon with my sister Jill and Tarra.. it was so much fun! This race was different then most, there were no timing devices allowed, and the goal was to cross the finish line at midnight or after. So you were bussed up to the top and your group crossed the start line at whatever time you wanted so that you could try and cross at 12. There were tons of glow sticks, and funny outfits, music, a full moon, and Chocolate cake, pizza, and chocolate milk at the finish line.. my kind of race! We had a blast doing it and I am just glad to have made it the whole way with my prego belly!

Boating Fun!

Four things you need to know about boating with Cookie:
1. She wants to sit in the Captains chair and drive.. every time the boat stopped she rushed for that seat.
2. She really loves it when we go fast and bored when we slow down
3. She laughs when someone falls off from tubing
4. She would prefer to be in the water !
We had a great time boating and Jon even took Cookie out on the tube and got pulled around.. what a brave one!

Rifle Gap

We finally got our camper back so last weekend we took a trip up to Rifle Gap with some friends. We had a great time just relaxing, hiking, having fires.. typical camping stuff. Cookie loved being outside and being able to run wild.. let's just say we were really tired at the end of the weekend!

Jon wanted to keep his Birthday low key this year so we just had a little family dinner on Sunday and watched a movie, then on Monday we celebrated by having Sushi fest.. Jon's most favorite food.. he loved it!

A day at the Lake

We took Cookie to Highline Lake the other day to play in the dirt and water! It's super nice to have a lake here in Grand Junction, unfortunately its the only one so everyone goes there! Cookie didn't seem to mind and had a grand old time. Karter kept trying to make sandcastles and Cookie kept smooshing them.. I don't think he like that very much!

24th of July.. Pioneer Day

For the 24th of July we headed up to the cabin in Hobble Creek, to celebrate the Pioneer Day festivities.. well and mostly just to get out of town! We hiked up Doughnut Falls, tried to put Cookie in a bouncy castle.. which she was not a fan of, saw my good friend Jessie who lives in Singapore, ate yummy food, played in the park and watched the amazing fireworks, we loved it!

Harry Potter Craze

To celebrate the last Harry Potter showing, Jon and I decided to have a Harry Potter party, followed by going to see the midnight showing of the final movie. I know what you are thinking.. and yes we are crazy.. and I am pretty sure we are too old to ever see a midnight showing again, it took us two days to re-coop. The party was complete with yummy food and treats, and the previous movie showing outside on the deck, yeah for Harry Potter!

The Big 30!

It's official, I can no longer say I am in my twenties.. which is pretty sad considering my hubby still gets to say he is in his twenties for 2 more years!! I thought I would be more sad but honestly I think my best years are still to come! It seemed like every day the week before my birthday was some sort of celebration, Jon would say now we are doing this for your Birthday. So on my Birthday when we were headed to my sisters house for cake and ice cream I certainly was not expecting this... lovely 30 surprise Bday party! It was all decorating luau style complete with playing the coconut game, hulu-hoop dancing, and a married couples game.. it was a blast, Best Birthday Every!

Glenwood Springs

We took a little day trip up to Glenwood springs with the intent of hiking hanging lake, however when we got there we found out it was closed and instead headed to costco, and then found a hike called bear creek. It was beautiful and right next to the river.. I would say a must do hike.

If you haven't heard the news.. it's true.. Jon and I will be having a Baby Boy, due in November! The baby looked healthy and perfect and boy, we could not be more excited.. specially Jon. To celebrate we went mini-golfing , to lunch, and bought the baby a new outfit! We feel so blessed!

4th of July

Every 4th of July we head down to Flaming Gorge, this year we had planned to bring our trailer.. however the axle fell off as we started our journey. So with a few change of plans we headed down on Friday and were squeezed into the Jolley cabin.. luckily there was room! It was the perfect weekend getaway to be in the mountains and on the river. There were a total of 9 families which meant 48 people! The kids made 4th of July shirts, we ate yummy food, found a new perfect spot for fireworks, played games.. and best of all rafted the river. With the water being so high this year it made the rapids particularly fun with lots of rollers, needless to say there was no staying dry on this raft run. Cookie was a champ, I don't think I have seen this girl every sit so still .. she loved it! After the main run down the river with all the kids we do our traditional girls raft trip.. and it seems as though every year we do this there is some catastrophe!! By the time we got on the water it was later and they had let out more water which meant more rapids.. plus we were already pretty weighted down, there were 9 girls on the 8 man raft! We hit every rapid, one which made the girls in front fly to the back.. laughed, squealed, and then got hailed on so hard we had to pull out onto the side and wait out the storm..it was a great time! So this post is really random a little hodgepodge of stuff lately!
First of all I made this really yummy chicken and spinach Stromboli, courtesy of our best bites.. I think it turned out delightful with some homemade dipping sauce.
I was loving these pictures of Cookie, mostly because she is always a huge mess, and seriously I think the orange was encrusted on her neck from the Popsicle she had.. pretty sure its a bad idea to give your child one of those while in the car.. but she really was quite!This was from the ward party we had last week, where the sheep really did eat right out of Cookie's hand.. she loved it. Too bad you can't see her facial expression, and the front of her since she is soaking wet from the slip n slid she went down.And lastly but not least, this is my favorite.. my two babes sleeping in the bed on Sunday, I love this pic!

Maiden Voyage

This past weekend we took our new pop-up trailer out for the first time.. yeah! We packed it all up and headed to steamboat springs. The trailer was great fun.. and so much better then being in a tent, I don't think I ever want to tent camp with young kiddos again!!
We hiked.. more like casually walked to fish creek falls, ate smores, shopped around, chilled by the fire, and played some great rounds of settlers. It was also really nice as we went with the Harmon's and the Clifford's who had trailers with bathrooms and ovens that we could use, Camp food never tasted so good! The only real down fall was Cookie thinking she needed to wake up at 530 and get in our bed to snuggle and sleep.. lets just say she took up half our bed!

The other day Jon and I washed our cars in the warm summer afternoon, and Cookie decided she was a pro at washing cars, she loved it.. so if your in need of a car washing come on over!

Memorial Day Fun

For Memorial Day we headed to Utah to be with Jon's family. We stayed at the cabin with the Nelson's and were able to also see the parents, Dave and Emily, Hillary and Adam, and Grandma Cook. It was a really relaxing fun weekend. We went and ate at the lovely Los Hermanos which I really was having a craving for, along with hiking, playing lava monster, going to the movie, having a yummy BBQ in which Tyler made the most delicious ribs I have ever eaten, we also went to the zoo, which oh my Cookie just loved seeing the animals, and play games at the cabin, it was lovely! Jon and I forgot our camera so we had to snag a few pictures from phones and Tyler!

Parents come to town

My parents came and stayed with us for 10 days.. and Cookie well she thought she was on cloud nine having a welcoming committee for her every morning when she got up, and all the additional attention! Unfortunately it rained a lot while they were here which put a small damper on plans, but we still were able to go to baseball games, eat yummy food, celebrate my Dad's 60th Birthday, watch movies, and do crafts! It was nice to have them here and break up my daily sometimes boring routine!!

The never ending hike

One evening we decided to hike Liberty Cap from the top of the monument, Jon had read about this new cool way that we could hike this trail which was to be around a 5 mile hike. We got a late start to our hike but it was a beautiful evening, we started the hike full of energy! After we had been hiking for quite some time, I started to wonder if we were ever going to make it to our destination as it seemed like we had hiked much further then 2.5 miles. However Cookie was being good and we continued forward, made it to the destination just in time for Cookie to have a blow out.. of course right! Then on the hike back it got dark and cold and it was taking forever.. and we had one tired baby on our hands. The hike was really fun but just needed to end about 1 hour earlier!! Needless to say we got home to do a little more research and found that the 5 miles we thought we hiked was actually 9.. at least we got a good work out right!

Happy Anniversary!

This year for Jon and I's anniversary we decided to celebrate at home but without the kiddo! Jill took Cookie for the weekend, while Jon and I were just at the house, it was perfect. We hiked to a place called rattlesnake arch where there are about 10 different arches, we went on trail runs, ate lot's of yummy food, went to the movies and then got to come home and sleep in our own bed.. it was the perfect at home getaway! I love this man and I'm grateful for all the adventures we have had so far!

Vikingman Race 2011

Our friends here in Grand Junction host an annual Viking-Man Race which consists of running, biking, and obstacles like eating doughnuts, golfing, launching fake animals.. etc. It was a blast!

The High Life

There are often moments in my day when I can't get enough of this bug! Also there are moments when I have had enough of this bug.. haha! Today however as I was cleaning my room, Cookie was laying on the bed watching the backyardigans, when I looked over and caught her looking like this.. oh Yes I am living the high life is what I'm sure she is thinking here. Then when she noticed I was taking a picture she decided it was funny and then hid herself! I love moments like these.

Cozumel

The last port we went to was Cozumel. We decided to take the ferry over to Talum and see the ancient ruins. The site was beautiful, then after wards they took us to a private beach for yummy food and laying out!

Grand Cayman

In the Grand Cayman they took us out on a 30 minute boat ride where we were able to snorkel and play with the sting rays.. when I say play I mean Jon played while I mostly observed! Then we had a yummy lunch off the beaten path and now I keep craving Thai Chili wraps!

Jamaica

In Jamaica we basically had our own tour bus which was fantastic. We went to Dunn's river falls and hiked up a huge waterfall. They recommend getting guides, but we decided against it due to the fact that we didn't want to be with a ton of people and hold hands like chains, we just did our own thing. After that we traveled through Jamaica and went tubing down the river along with some cliff jumping.

Haiti was our first stop on the cruise, there wasn't tons to do there so we just enjoyed having a beach day, lounging, swimming and reading.

Cruising in the Caribbean, Boat Life

Jon and I went cruising with some friends last month in the Caribbean! It was fantastic to get away, huge thanks to my Mom for watching the kiddo!!

Boat life primarily consisted of eating way to much food and then going back an hour later for way too much food again! When we were not stuffing our faces with food, we went rock climbing, played a rough game of dodge ball, Jon did the surf thing, went to shows, played games, and at night we hit the crypt for dancing.

It may be premature to think we are headed for nice weather from here on out, but the past few days have given us high hopes and we are taking advantage! Jon was able to get off work early yesterday and we packed up Cookie and took off. This time we did a hike called Echo Canyon, it was great and only about 4 miles so just perfect for Cookie!

For Valentines Jon and I went to a little Bistro on downtown main street, followed by eating delicious treats and watching a movie on the couch, I love any excuse to celebrate!

December in a Nutshell

December came and went too quickly that I didn't have a chance to sit down and blog! So here we go with some highlights!

Jon and I went to this fun pizza place downtown, which was fantastic. We took Cookie and she got her very own Mac and Cheese.. apparently Mac and Cheese is the best food in the world.

I made these delicious Christmas treats with my sister.. big mistake, it took all day to make all these goodies however I think they were delicious!
My mom sent this super cute outfit for Cookie, her shirt says Daddy's little cookie. Let me tell you that is the truth she is a daddy's girl to the core, follows Jon all around the house when he is home.The week of Christmas Cookie and I got the flu.. not fun, but by Christmas morning she was back to her normal happy self. For Christmas Eve, we had yummy food, wrote nice notes, acted out the nativity of course, opened one present, and most fun of all played sardines. Oh and yes, Jon requested no pj's for Christmas this year, so we found him these lovely shorts instead, just call him Mr. Jingles!Santa also brought me this delicious cold coke for Christmas morning!A few days after Christmas we headed up to the Nelson cabin, which was lovely as always. Utah was stinking cold, and it snowed a ton. It took Jon and I over 1 1/2 hours to get the car up onto the driveway!! So needless to say we spent most of our time just hanging at the cabin. We did venture up to Salt Lake, saw the lights (for all of 10min. due to cold)!! Scott, Eric, Hillary and Adam all came to the cabin for dinner and a fun night of poker. Hillary and I won.. yeah were awesome. For New Years Jill and Drew and the boys came to the cabin late at night, we played games, ate more yummy food, and barely stayed up till midnight! We also went sledding on a hill right close to the cabin, it was a pretty great and cozy little get away!

Thanksgiving in St. George

For Thanksgiving we headed to St. George to be with Jon's family! The weekend was fantastic, almost all of the siblings were able to make it which made it even more fun. We ate yummy food, played ultimate frisbee, went shopping, had a baby shower for Emily, celebrated Mom Cook's B-day, it was just a great weekend and so fun to be with family. Cookie also loved hanging with her BFF April! As we headed home to Grand Junction, it was nice to have time and reflect on our lives and truly how much we have to be thankful for!

Visit from Grandma and Grandpa Cook

Last weekend Kent and Debbie came and stayed the weekend with us! We had a great time with them here, we ate yummy food, went on a hike, made the most delicious homemade salsa.. (yes you should all be jealous) took a drive up the monument, which I think made us all a little sick, and watched movies. It was so fun to have them here, we love to entertain guests so anytime you need a place to visit you know where to come!

The Big One!!

This girl is 1, can you believe it!! I remember a year ago driving to the hospital completely giddy to have this baby girl and now she is 1, I really can't believe how time flies.
For the big day, we went and rode the toys at the mall with cousin Karter, picked out the perfect toy for her present, got suprised by Daddy with a huge balloon, had pizza (which cookie ate a whole slice of) and had yummy cake ( which Cookie also ate almost all of)!

Latest Tricks - Says more in sign language and all done, High fives, raises her hands for touchdown, walks everywhere, claps, kisses, gets into everything!

Trick or Treat

Cookie was our little duck for Halloween this year, which was really cute cause her walk is more like a little duck waddle. We had a great time at the ward party and then on Halloween we took her to just a few houses. Cookie would walk up to the door, holding her own bucket, get the candy turn around and when we would pick her up she would kick her legs, shake her bucket and let out a big squeal! We loved it and the candy she totally scored for us!!

BYU Football Game

We took Cookie to her first ever BYU Football Game! She actually did pretty good and sat through most of it, and more importantly she learned how to raise her arms up to show touch down!!

I love that Jon and Cookie have the same facial expression here!

Halloween Pumpkin Carving Family Night

I love Halloween season! Jon and I decided to invite some of our friends over for a pumpkin carving evening of fun! We made yummy soup dinner that we put inside of a pumpkin and then made breadsticks to look like bones with blood dipping sauce and then we of course had to have Dry Ice Rootbeer! I didn't take many pictures but we had about 8 family's come which made it really fun.

Cookie had a blast as she tried to eat the Pumpkin's.

Pumpkin Patch Attempt #1

Jon and I were excited to take cookie to the pumpkin patch for her first time.. don't judge us, it's our first kid!! Anyhow we arrived to find her passed out, even after we took her out of the car and put her into the stroller! Jon and I had a great time and found some good looking pumpkins, guess there is always next year!

Gold Man Olympic Triathlon

A few weeks ago me and some of my friends did the Triathlon. It's a 1 mile swim, 24 mile bike, and a 6.2 mile run!! This was a great accomplishment and a lot of fun, I am super grateful my sister rocks and crossed the finish line with me!!

This little girl melts my heart, here are some pictures my dear friend Angie took of Cookie back in July, so she would be about 8 months old in these. Cookie is getting so big, so fast. Right now her mad skills consist of trying to walk everywhere ( she gets about 8-10 steps) waving bye bye, giving high fives, clapping, and giving kisses! We love her!

Imogene Run!

Two weeks ago Jon did a race called the Imogene Trail Run... it is an insane race! The race is 17 miles long and reaches up to 13,100 ft. So you run straight up hill for 10 miles!! I am so proud of Jon, what a huge accomplishment!

We stayed up in a cabin that was on the course Jon ran, so cookie and I got to cheer him on at mile 4!Poor Jon pulled his groin muscle on the way up, and on the way down he had a little crash, but he finished strong! Here is Jon with his war wounds. I think Jon was mostly sad about his phone breaking!

Washington / Oregon Trip

Jon and I took a 10 day road trip to Washington and Oregon, with a small stop in Utah! It was a blast, however all in all we drove 3,000 miles which is a lot with a baby! So here is our play by play!!

Day 1: Drive to Utah , ate at macaroni grill with friends and stayed the night with the Stewarts
Day 2: Drive 9 hours to Kennewick Wa. to see my parents! We suprised them by arriving 3 days early. Day 3: Drive to Portland Oregon! Jon and I stopped off at the Colombia River Gorge to hike and see all the waterfalls. It was incredible, we hiked to 3 different falls and had lunch at the bottom.
This was cookie's reaction when she saw the waterfall!We then continued to take the Old Scenic Highway and found this great overlook. ( I forgot the name)We were also able to see our friends the Jackson's and eat dinner, and stay at our friends the Bodmer's house.

Day 4: Woke up early went on a nice run and then headed to the Oregon Coast, Cannonbeach. Here we are eating at Mo's it was delicious!
Day 5: Woke up early and drove to Seattle Washington! Jon and I headed over to the arboretum by Washington State University. It was right on the lake and had trails to different botanical gardens. We ate at Madison Park and then headed to Pike Place Market to eat fish and chips.
Then we headed over to Westport, the Washington Coast, where we stayed in a condo on the beach with my sister and her family.
Day 6 & 7: Stayed in the Condo on the beach. Jon went deep sea fishing and we just relaxed.
Day 8 & 9: Drove back to Kennewick to be with my family sense my Dad was not able to come on the westport trip. I was also able to see my dear friends from highschool, it has been a long time, we ate ice cream at Red Robin and played catch up!Day 10:
Here is my sweet Dad that woke up at 4:30 to feed cookie her bottle and see us off. We made it to Utah stayed the night and headed for home in the morning.

My Birthday Weekend Extravaganza!

My Birthday was this weekend! We started the celebrating on Friday by going boating with the Harmons. Cookie had a blast watching the kids tube. Then Saturday we headed up to Glenwood Springs, we took the Gondola to the top and went on some rides. That night Jon and I went out on a date night with some friends. We played the great game of the Price is right, with Bob Barker and his assistants! It was a great Birthday, Thanks to all who helped make it special!

Flaming Gorge and the 4th of July!

Jon and I went with some of our friends to Flaming Gorge for the 4th of July weekend. We took Cookie rafting down the river.. she hated the life jacket but loved the ride! We just had fun spending time with friends, eating yummy food, playing cards. Cookie stayed up for fireworks as well, she laughed when they started it was super cute!

Utah Trip

Jon and I went to Utah for a family get together. We were able to stay at the cabin with the Kristen, Tyler and the kids. It was super fun. We ran a 10k race, went hiking, ate yummy food and played Scene it Seinfeld, which I don't think I knew one answer to, thanks to Hillary for letting me be on her winning team!

Jon surprised me for our anniversary this year and planned an overnight trip to a little city here in Colorado called Ouray, also known as little Switzerland! Cookie stayed here first night away from us with my sister and Jon and I headed out. It was beautiful and our hotel had private hot pots.. loved them! We just went on hikes and ate yummy food while enjoying our freedom. Love ya babe.

Brooklyn 4 Months... well now she is 5 months!

So I started working on this post forever ago but was having a hard time getting this video uploaded. So here it is finally. Cookie is now 5 months, but here are some of the tricks she was doing at 4 months. She is always laughing and likes talking to herself! I can't remember her stats from the doctor but I do remember that she is 50% for height, weight and head size! Cookie is such a delight, she is easy to take out and about, she loves her jumper.. she just bounces and bounces while watching the backyardigans.. which is also a new love of hers. She is a really good sleeper, and takes really good naps during the day, I do love her for that. Oh yeah and she is a total daddy's girl, her face lights up whenever she hears Jon's voice!

Vikingman Race!

Our friends the Kohl's put together a Vikingman race last weekend. There were about 65 participants and I think 13 teams. It was a blast the course was 10.2 miles long which consisted of running, biking and obstacle courses. It was sweet, here is Jon and I's team and the post below is a video of the event.

Parents in Town

So a few weeks ago my parents made the trek out here from Washington. This was the first time my dad has seen the baby.. and she loved him! It was so much fun to have them around, and we are sad they have gone home.

Gateway Half Marathon

Last month Jon and I along with some of our friends went to Gateway and ran the half marathon. The run was beautiful, full of red rocks like Zion's and a river to run by. It was super fun to get out there again and such an accomplishment. Jon ran the entire way with me also .. what a good husband! Our poor driver also hit a deer 2 miles away from our destination, luckily only the car was injured!

Easter

This year for Easter we had a sleepover at my sister Jill's house which is always fun. Jon hid all the Easter baskets which was pretty funny, he even buried one of them under the sand.. so it took us a while to find them.

Utah Trip

So a while back Jon and I were able to take a trip to Utah and stay downtown SLC and stay in the condo. It was a quick trip but super fun to see family. Here we are on our lovely walk around the capital.

So I just had to post this most delicious dinner I made! Cooking has become my hobby for the past year or so, I love trying new dishes and eating yummy food, and really I love to have good food for when we have people over. I have decided however it is time to challenge myself a bit more and make a few more fancy type items. Here is attempt one and it was pretty easy. It's called spiced pork with a bourbon reduction sauce. If you have any good ideas of things I should try let me know!

Last weekend Jon was out of town, so I had all my nephews sleep over! It was a great party, we had pizza, games, movies, they all went to bed good and in the morning the baby took a long nap so we all went out side to play some football, it was a blast!
