Biking up on the Mesa

I have fallen in love with biking these past few months.. can you tell? Last week a group of us ladies drove up to the mesa biked up the mesa past the powderhorn ski resort to the top of the Grand Mesa Lakes. The ride was tons of uphill and was 26 miles round trip, this was for sure the toughest ride I have done, but it was beautiful, and all of the leaves were changing to their fall colors, just perfect. Afterwards we had lunch at a little cafe place, and headed home. I was in heaven for the whole day!

Soda Fast, Ragnar Race

Colorado held it's first Ragnar Race and me and my girlfriends did it! It started in Breckenridge, went to Vail and to Aspen, it was crazy! Our team name was Soda Fast.. for sort of fast, or sort of slow, we had a six pack of cokes and a 6 pack of Dt. Coke. We had a team of 12, which meant each of us ran 3 legs. My first leg was 9.1 miles through Vail area, which started around 3 something, then my next leg started at 2:30 am, in Glenwood springs area for 4.9 miles ( the dark was freaky), then my next run was in the morning at 10 for a final 2.4 miles toward Aspen. We stayed in different Highschool gyms when we were not running and tried to sleep however there was not much of a window of time before the next van ended. I was able to sleep a grand total of 2 hours, from 5-7 am, eating was also tricky depending on when your run ended and your whole team ended, it was crazy and now that it is over I can say really fun! Our team also won best costumes!

 The Cars

Carla and Tarra getting a little loopy.. cheering Jill on
Sad face, my team kept being late to my exchanges so I would finish and the next runner was not there.. in their defense I had some tricky exchange points.
Me right before my first long run
Sleeping in the gym.. I'm obviously not sleeping, this was at 8pm at night, my body does not shut off that early!

Jon successfully finished running the Imogene Pass Run! This was his third year running this race, and he smoked his times from the previous 2 years! I was not able to be there as I was running a different race so I have no finishing photos.. sad I know, but here are some from the beginning of the run.. YEAH JON!

The Grand Mesa

This was a fantastic family adventure we took up the grand mesa, which is really right in our own backyard, it takes about 45 minutes to get up to. We found these canoes for rental and ate our picnic on the lake. Then we went on a small hike afterwards before the kiddos got to tired. You can see that Brooklyn has this hiking bit down pat now, she had the map, found a stick and was showing us which way to go.. Jon was in heaven!

Biking the Monument

It's official I finally biked the entire monument! The ride was absolutely beautiful, I loved it!

Utah Trip

Jon went fishing so I made a quick trip over to Utah to visit family. I mostly chilled by the pool, hung out with my sweet sister in laws and saw my cousins and there kids. It was super nice to not be home alone while Jon was gone!

Winter Park Downhill Biking

A few weekends ago I went on a girls trip to WinterPark for some downhill mountain biking! I must admit upon arrival I was very nervous and intimidated by the full body gear and face masks, and the fact that I did not see many girls getting on the lift. I had a blast, it was such a serious rush going downhill and fast and over bridges.. I keep watching stinking U tube videos of the place just to remember it all, so fun, all of the girls I went with made the experience that much more enjoyable.
